The company SQUAD created the first solar City car. The solar City car was created to reduce emissions and congestion. The solar car is used for daily mobility, such as dropping off the kids for school, getting groceries, shopping, and driving to other local places. This car allows you not to worry about charging, parking, and traffic. The car provides standard features as a car would such as air conditioning, heating, and room for items. The vehicle also provides the choice of removing the doors. Parking spots are scarce and congestion is becoming a global problem, the city car doesn’t have to worry about that. The city car uses perpendicular parking, letting three city cars fit in one parking space. In most cities parking the Squad on the curb or special moped parking places is allowed. The size, compactness, and speed of 45 km/h allow for faster maneuvering in the city, avoiding congestion, traffic, and the search for parking slots. The retail price for the city car starts at € 6250,- ex. tax or through a monthly lease or subscription. The city car also provides a more affordable price since in most cities there is no parking charge, no road tax, and no congestion charge. The city car was created with recycled materials and the design focuses on safety, comfort, low maintenance, and durability in urban use. The city car doesn’t require a car license. The Squad City car holds up to 4 portable, swappable batteries. Each battery has a capacity of 1,6 kWh, offering a total battery range of up to 100km. (Excluding solar) The vehicle has a low dashboard providing space for bags or even a laptop without blocking the view through the front window. The dashboard also provides a smartphone holder with USB charging.
