What is Body Armor? Body Armor is a product people use on a part of their body to protect it.
Since the beginning of mankind, people have been on a conquest to fight and kill each other to earn resources, honor, and respect. Over time, technology evolved, but so did the risk to our lives. So the evolution of body armor had to come soon if we wanted our lives.
In ancient times, people used armor from leather and animal skins and leather, which protected them from swords and other weapons. As technology improved, people started making armor out of metals and bronze. This led to the creation of chain-mail and metal plate armor, which were stronger and more durable.
When guns became more common, metal was no longer effective because bullets could pass right through. However, in the 19th century, some military forces experimented with metal breastplates and helmets to protect soldiers, but this didn’t last long, since they were too heavy and not very effective. In the 20th century, body armor made a big comeback with the invention of bulletproof vests made from materials like Kevlar. Nowadays, body armor is advanced, being both lightweight and able to stop bullets, which has ended up protecting and saving many lives.
