First Hot Wheels
Elliot Handler was the creator of Hot Wheels, an American brand of scale model cars. Elliot was first inspired to produce Hot Wheels when he saw his son playing with Matchbox Cars. He wanted to make his line of model cars compete with Matchbox Cars. The first Hot Wheels are designed after hot rods. Hot Wheels are designed to stand out among other toy cars, they achieve this by giving the cars big rear tires, flame decals, crazy proportions, hood blowers, and other customization.
The first batch of Hot Wheels was named, The Ordinal Sweet 16. Jack Ryan helped Elliot Handler produce this line of Hot Wheels. Jack Ryan also invented the Barbie doll and would be a great help to Elliot in making the cars. Of the sixteen cars released eleven of them were designed by Harry Bentley Bradley. These cars were well-received by critics for their craftsmanship, amazing design, and impressive customization.
