Biomedical engineering (BME)  is a recently created discipline. Its most accepted definition is the application of engineering principles to the life sciences. It combines engineering design criteria and analysis tools from mathematics, physics, and chemistry to solve problems in medicine, biology, biotechnology, pharmacy, and more.
