(Kilobot) Programmable Self-Assembly in a Thousand-Robot Swarm

(Kilobot) Programmable Self-Assembly in a Thousand-Robot Swarm

kilobots are Simple robots that use reflected infrared lights. These robots aren’t good on their own, but when there are many of them, they can make all kinds of shapes. They have a self-assembly algorithm that is composed of three primitive behaviors and rely on other strategies to operate in large groups of error-prone robots.

These robots relate to engineering because they are machines and the Harvard students needed to engineer them to make them capable of making random shapes.
