#woodBOX Construction Of A Arcade Stick
Directions and list of materials to build an arcade fighting board.
Materials:
~ Wood blocks : 2x 7 in 1 by 1 (Length), 2x 5 in 1 by 1 (Width), 2x 15/16 in 1 by (Top and Bottom).
~ Joystick, Wire, and Encoder
~ Sanwa Buttons
SANWA DENSHI OBSF30-XX 30mm SOLID COLOR Pushbutton
~ Mouse mat (optional)
(Additional screws or nuts may be required)
Directions:
- Apply wood glue to width block and attach to length blocks.
- Apply wood glue to the top of the width and length block’s side and attach the cover.
- Place button layout on the cover, mark button placement, and then drill.
- Attach button and Stick to the proper location. In order to keep the stick in place, drill a hole on the cover, insert a screw, and tighten with nuts. Note: The board should look similar this:
- Attach the metal part of the wires to the buttons and stick.
- Plug the white tip of the wire to the button’s, stick’s, and USB’s respective place.
- To test if the encoder is working, plug the USB cable into your computer, if the LED light from the encoder turns on, it works.
- Attach the bottom cover with SCREWS. (to open the board if needed).
OPTIONAL STEPS
- Apply wood glue to the bottom of the mouse mat and attach to the bottom of the board. Be sure the clamp the mouse mat to the board when gluing to ensure that the mouse mat sticks to the board.
