Many new vehicles are in development, new planes, helicopters, motorcycles, buses, cars, etc. In all of this development, one exciting new model is fascinating. The S11 Carcopter, or the first flying F1 car, is a drone-car hybrid capable of reaching top speeds at around 155 miles per hour. This prototype was first developed in 2019 when introduced into the world. The first model was founded by Thierry de Boisvilliers and Michael Krollak, both respected helicopter veterans. They set out on a mission to develop the first racing carcopter.

The carcopter is roughly 23-feet long and weighs 600 kg. This design is also eco-friendly and is entirely powered by hydrogen. This makes the carcopter the first completely eco-friendly F1 flying car. Although this design may seem fictional or something quite out of a dream, it is closer to reality, as many may think. This design comprises hydrogen-fuel cells that distribute their energy to six 35 kilowatt electric motors. The fuel cells can restore energy in only a few minutes. The power of this is roughly the equivalent of a 175 kg lithium-ion battery. This will make the carcopter motors much faster than regular battery vehicles. The carcopter can also essentially semi-auto pilot itself. The carcopter is built out of durable flax fibers and a little bit of wood. This makes it so that the carcopter can travel to top speeds with its lightweight. The carcopter is also made with counterrotating propellers that help it move silently.

MACA is pushing for the carcopter to release around 2023, although its likely release date is 2024. Although 2024 may seem far away, it is a very close release date for a futuristic car. The carcopter is a step in the right direction as it is entirely eco-friendly and can also reach top speeds for being a flying car. This new project is inspiring as the concept of flying cars may come to the public very soon and think, “How cool would it be for everyone to have flying cars?” This question may be solved in the near future when flying cars become a new reality.
