I am going to talk about the NBA draft and how it works, and what happens. The NBA draft is the top 60 prospects that get drafted from either college or overseas. The first part of the draft is the combine.  The combine is where the NBA teams scouts and general manager go to look at the different players. In the combine, the different drills are the vertical jump, bench press, and hand length and width. After the combine, teams will interview the prospects to see their work ethic and basketball IQ. Then there is the draft lottery, where the commissioner will randomly select balls from the teams that did not make the playoffs and randomly select them. Then there will be individual workouts with the players while the teams watch. Then comes the most interesting part of the draft. There are 2 rounds and 30 teams in the draft, so that equals 60 players chosen for each draft. The top 14 players in the first round are the coveted lottery picks. Sometimes teams will not have their picks in the draft if they decided to use them in a trade to acquire other assets. After the draft, the teams will get ready to start playing and fight for rookie of the year!
