Mobile phone have obviously changed our lives. We carry them around, call our boss at work, play games while in line for the DMV. They have saved us so much time. But have they Really helped our lives?

History of the Mobile Phone

The first telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876, and the first permanent line was built in 1977. Nearly a century later, the siblings Mitchell and Martin Cooper of the cooperation Motorola launched the first cellular network in 1973. The phone weighed almost 2 kilograms and was commercially available as the DynaTAC 8000x 10 years later. The first smartphone was invented in 1992 by IBM called the Simon Personal Communicator. Nowadays, our phones can play games, and even take pictures.

The Pros and Cons

A plus of cell phones is being able to communicate from millions of miles away, and this greatly reduces time for travel and letters. A con for this is it may seem to people that it is not needed to comfort or see people in face, and only uses their smartphone to communicate with friends. Another plus is entertainment, but this deprives people of learning how to be bored.

Even will all the cons, phones have many more pros. Phones are helpful, but you shouldn’t let them take over your life.
