How The Nissan Skyline GT-R Has Evolved Through The Years

In 1973, Shinichiro Sakurai had an idea, he thought, what about a fast, beautiful sports car? Thus, inventing the Nissan skyline. The first generation of Nissan skyline was the Nissan skyline GTR 2000 with 156 bhp and 121 mph top speed.

The second generation was the Nissan skyline GTR r32 with a stock top speed of 150 mph and 276 bhp and was revolutionary for its looks and tuning potential.

The third generation of the Nissan skyline GTR was the r33 with a stock top speed of 155 mph and 276 bhp which had a bit of an r32, and paved the way for the iconic r34.

Finally, in 1998, Shinichiro Sakurai made the fourth and final generation was the r34 with a stock top speed of 155 mph and 276 bhp brought the iconic rb26 engine, and one of if not the most iconic JDM (Japanese domestic market) cars of all time. And, although the r35 is not a skyline, the r34 paved the way for the iconic JDM supercar, the r35.
