There is a new and innovative way for ping pong lovers to be able to play their favorite game without needing a game room. It’s the ping pong door, a ping pong table that doubles as a functioning door to save space. All it took was a little bit of engineering. The table works just like a door when not in use, able to swing open and close. The table is opened when you flip the latch up on each side of the doorway, and simply fold the whole door vertically to make the tabletop. Then you attach the net, grab some paddles, and start a round or two.

The ping pong table is ingeniously thought up by Tobias Fränzel, and made by FINKELDI, a company based in Germany. Custom made, these tables take up to eight weeks to install, but they are worth the wait. Some tables made by other manufacturers even allow you to play solo, by having only one piece flip down. That is, if the price of about $11,500 isn’t too much. You can find them for cheaper at other websites, but be prepared to pay about $1,000. Still, if you have no space to put a full sized ping pong table in your apartment or house, this table is a space effective and functional piece ready to star in parties, social gatherings, and even just a family game night. So next time you are looking for something fun to do with a few friends, think about investing in this innovative ping pong door.
