In California in the 1950’s and 60’s the young chicano men created a car style called Lowriders that expressed the Mexican American Culture. Lowriders started getting popular in the 70’s on Whittier Boulevard in Los Angeles and on saturday nights you would see brightly colored customized cars by the young Mexican Chicanos.
