Mutant Rock
The biggest diamond in the world was discovered at the end of January in 1905. Its worth about 85 million dollars. It was found in a mine in south Africa and it was 15 feet below ground. Fredrick Wells was the miner that discovered the diamond. The diamond was shown to the owner of the mine, Sir Thomas Cullinan. He sold the diamond to the government of Transvaal Provincial. Worried that the diamond would be stolen from the long trip from Africa to London Cullinan decided to make a fake diamond.
This is related to engineering because Cullinan probably needed engineering to replicate the diamond to make it look as real as possible.
