Dubai’s Artificial Islands

Dubai is one of the richest places on the planet. And when you are extremely rich, what do you do? You build entire islands! There are three entirely man made islands on the coast of Dubai. Construction on them started in 2001. Palm Jumeirah and Palm Deira are both finished, but Palm Jebel Ali’s construction has been put on hold until further notice.

This relates to engineering because it is an artificial island.
