Oregon Trail

Oregon Trail game

Oregon Trail is a fun, interactive video game designed by Dan Rawitsch, Bill Heinemann, and Paul Dillenberg. It was developed in 1971, but produced by the Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium (MECC) in 1974.

This game is about the pioneer life on the Oregon Trail. In this game you get to make decisions as you travel along the Oregon Trail. At the very beginning you can choose the names of your party and buy materials for your journey. You can change your pace, rations, and hunt. You will also be faced with many challenges along the way like sickness, broken equipment, and even death.

This is related to engineering because people had to design and code the game. Updates were made, and the designers went through the engineering and design process.
