How is paper recycled?
First, the recycle-rs take the paper and other materials from the blue bin outside your house, then they take it to a recycling plant where it is separated into types and grades.
Then the paper is washed with soapy water to take the ink, plastic, and other materials off the paper, then the paper put inside a machine where the paper is mixed with water to make the “slurry”.
By adding different materials, you can make different types of paper like cardboard, office paper, and newspapers.
The slurry is spread by using large rolls to turn paper into thin sheets. The paper is left to dry and then it’s rolled up to get ready to be cut and sent it back to the shops.

This is related to engineering because engineers built the machines that turn the old recycled paper into new paper.
