Ever since late 2016 when Apple released their Air Pods, no other wireless earbud seems to come close to the popularity and versatility of the Air Pod. If anyone could take down this Bluetooth earbud monopoly, it would be Google. And they are trying to do just that. On October 4, 2017 Google released two new phones with no headphone jack, and along with that the Pixel Buds. Most people seem to think that the Air Pods are better.

This relates to engineering and technology because music is a large part of culture today. Most people use their phones to play music and ear buds are getting better and better due to technological advances. Competition between companies arises from that.
