NASA, or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is an independent agency of the executive branch of the federal government of the United States. In addition to Investigating the deep regions of space, NASA launched a submarine to explore the deep regions of the ocean. On August 20, NASA sent a submarine to the seafloor near Hawaii to study this extreme environment. The plants and ocean life there could be similar to the life on other planets and moons. Although this is astray from their main goal of sending objects into space, this new expedition on Earth could help NASA find life on other planets.
This is related to engineering because engineers built the NASA submarine so it can be suitable for researching the ocean floor. This mission will improve the search for extraterrestrial life in space.
