Before starting to build an air hockey table, we needed to build a miniature model. To begin building the model, we needed two flat surfaces, one for the top and one for the bottom. We also needed sixteen sticks, eight were six inches, and the other eight were four inches, all made from Balsa wood. On the surface for the top, we drew the pattern for the playing surface, and drew all of the holes for the air. Next, we glued the short sticks into two pairs of four, and the long sticks into two pairs of four. After that, we glued everything together, the short sticks on the front and back, and the long sticks on the side. Finally, we drilled the hole where the air would go into.
This relates to engineering because we engineers should always have a model before they start building their products.
