The Camera Pill is designed to detect cancer at its earliest stages. It does so by taking detailed, colored photos of any possible tumors while in confined spaces. The pill is often used to track esophageal cancer, whose occurrence is increasing in the US. According to the lead researcher at the University of Washington, Eric Seibel, the pill has a width of an adult fingernail and is twice as long. Additionally, using the pill is fairly cheap due to its small size and that there is no need for anesthesia or sedation.
