AFC Energy just announced the launch of Hy-5, which is a portable hydrogen generation module from their Hyamtec brand. It’s set to be delivered in 2026, and Hy-5 is the first-ever containerized cracking module that can make up to 1,100 pounds (500 kg) of hydrogen every day. Plus, Hy-5 could be super handy for industrial stuff like burners for high-heat processes, making steel and cement, the chemical industry, and hydrogen logistics. There’s also a big chance to use it for off-grid electric vehicle charging with hydrogen fuel cell generators. One of the nice things about Hy-5 is its flexibility with ammonia.
