Before we can learn how to use it, we have to know what it is. Blender is a free 3D modeling software used by many indie creators. It’s very versatile and has lots of useful features, such as modeling (obviously), texturing, animating, etc. Blender itself is always being updated to better suit its users. Seeing all these benefits, how could you not want to use it?
Blender is currently the most accessible 3D modeling software, but it is still complicated. We can’t talk about the functions of a blender linearly so that we will go one at a time. The first function of blender we will discuss is adding meshes, a mesh is any 3D shape. You can add shapes like cubes, spheres, cylinders, etc. You can edit meshes using edit mode to change the shapes of the meshes. The second feature of Blender that we will talk about is animation. Using the animation timeline, you can make keyframes. In a keyframe, changing the position, shape, or size of what you are animating will show the changes happening in real-time when you start the animation in the timeline.
To conclude, you should now know how to use Blender at a basic level. This article was unable to explain texturing. I hope one day to see what people can make; there have been many great 3D models and 3D animations.
