SpaceX launched their Falcon Heavy Rocket on February 6th. The rocket combined three of their previously use , https://www.theverge.com/2018/2/6/16971200/spacex-falcon-heavy-launch-success-roadster-orbit-elon-musd boosters into one large rocket. It can carry more cargo than any other rocket (141,000 lb). The event was livestreamed on youtube.
Later on SpaceX also streamed a live view of ‘Starman’ their rider in Elon Musk’s personal Tesla Roadster, which was launched into space towards Mars.
Space attempted to land the three boosters of the Falcon Heavy. Two of them landed successfully on land and the other one failed at landing on a autonomous drone ship.
This relates to engineering because it uses aerospace engineering to create rockets and their various systems. A lot of engineering had to go into landing the boosters.
