Recently there has been excitement about the new 5g. Companies have been deploying 5g networks since 2019. 5g will be a lot better than 4g, which was made in 2009. 5g networks will be a lot faster than 4g networks at 10-gigabits per second. 4g can only reach 300 megabits per second, which is about 33 times slower than 5g.

South Korea was the first country to develop a 5g network. In March 2020, Samsung became the first company to put 5g on their phones. High-frequency networks can only reach up to a couple of hundred meters, while lower frequencies can reach a few hundred kilometers.

1g was introduced in the 1980s, with it came faster smartphone communication and web browsing. 2g was made in the 1990s, and it brought text messages and the ability to send images that were not available before. 3g was made in 2000, and it improved the wireless internet, and it made video calls possible. 4g was introduced in 2010, and it improved smartphones so that they would be as fast as a PC. One bad thing about 5g is that if you have a 4g phone, you will have to buy a phone with a 5g included.

As more people get 5g, the future of 5g is very bright.
